HIGHWAY INSPECTORS, SUMMER, 1999

Parker & Zeppelin inspect 150 Highway
As Missouri 150 Highway was being built in my backyard, I would from time to time go up there and take pictures of the construction. I am avoiding using the word "progress", because I hate the highway and do not view it as progress in terms of nature and lost habitat for birds and animals. Nevertheless, Zeppelin and Parker usually accompanied me on my journeys as I could always be assured that they would not run off into oblivion. I did not trust Jack and Jake to stay with me, so I always took Zeppelin and Parker. Where they are walking is about where the roadbed was. Toward the top of the picture you might be able to see the area that still had to be filled in with rock and dirt. This picture was taken in the summer of 1999.
